Note to Anet: Competitive Missions are not PvE Content
If anyone noticed, next weekend if Competitive Mission weekend again, which is taking up the pve weekend slot. These are PvP, but it appear because they don't double the Balth faction reward, this is legitimate "PvE" weekend. I willing to bet next weekend will be another PvP weekend, looking at their pattern it will be double gvg. I understand Anet tries to balance the weekend event, and usually does a good job. But this is my major complaint, they count competitive and gamer points missions as pve content. These are PvP event because:
You fight against other players.
PvP characters have access to them.
Yes there are NPC, but so does HB, GvG, Ab, and even Ra/TA and HA has the ghostly and priest. I understand competitive mission have more NPC than most PvP, but that doesn't make then PvE
How to make future weekends not PvP in PvE clothing, either add double the priests blessing, or just double the title points when you turn in faction.
Honestly does anyone else think this weekend has nothing to do with pve except maybe to get people who don't' know the eradon terras glitch Cartographer.

competitive missions are, imo, not (organized) pvp. this competition goes in the same category as AB, RA, Costume Brawl, etc. as a pvper myself, i never go there and generally dont consider it real pvp.
for me, pvp means an organized fight between 2 separate teams. these arenas (Quarry, Fort) are more like rock paper scissors, with assassins being a trump card.
that all being said, i agree that you pvers should get your weekends. even if they are a spectacular letdown like most of the pvp weekends.

I think you're right. Last time i checked PvP means Player versus Player, and PvE means Player versus Environment. Although AB / competitive missions shouldn't be counted as PvP anyway, they should be in a separate class, like PvR : Player versus Randomness.

I think a.net needs to start providing every weekend with 2 events. One for a pvp bonus and one for a pve bonus. So for example, Double balthazar faction and double green drop weekend all in one.
It couldn't be that hard to make every weekend event have something for both pve and pvp.

Have "both" been taking turns or something like that, like this weekend PvP, the next PvE, so on and so forth? I honestly haven't been paying much attention.

Wait, there are pve and pvp slots for the weekend events? Was this in some sort of formal announcement I missed? Point is, nobody ever said the weekend events would go pve one weekend, pvp the next. Hell, nobody ever said there would be weekend events. It's free shit so stop complaining, nobody cares. If the weekend isn't to your liking, then it doesn't affect you and you can go about your business as usual.

ArenaNet should just make those things permanent.
Screw the weekends, they have money!

It would be every cool, but it would destroy the whole purpose of having weekends. Most play only in weekends, and they put in these bonus in it so that hardcore-pvpers take some time off from pvping and do some pve stuff. And on the other hand it lures pve'rs to pvp.

This.
Make it so that EVERY weekend we have double Balths, double Luxon, double grind titles, double HA, ...
There is no way that a person will get max in those titles JUST by playing on the weekends (OR that insanely faster that it would cause some massive imbalance).
On-topic:
Yeah, they probably aren't PvE.
Must be why I still enjoy them. ^^

Oh, look! It's Tuesday!!!
There are no "PvE weekend slots" OR "PvP weekend slots." There never have been. Two PvP weekends (or PvE weekends) in a row is not a legitimate reason for complaining about how A-Net schedules these events. If they did 4+ in a row of whichever type, then MAYBE it would be comment worthy. The fact that there is something very close to a 50/50 split between the types of weekends should count for something in the war against QQ.
I suspect the cartographers (PvE) will be delighted to see some activity in JQ. And I'm sure some PvPers will take advantage of the opportunity to "pwn sum nubs." I'm also sure that there are many people from both PvP and PvE who will look at this weekend as an opportunity for a change of pace from the regular grind.

AB and competitive missions are WAY more PvE than PvP. They're basically cooperative PvE.
This is a PvE weekend. Without a doubt.

Who cares if they are PvE, PvP or PvSomethingElse? There are no 'slots' for certain types of weekends, never were, probably never will be. Stop complaining about pointless things and just enjoy whatever weekend you get.

When you can use PvE skills in the place in question you know it's not PvP.

CMs aren't pvp at all. You fight NPCs half the time if you are doing it correctly. They are PvPvE at best.

I think every weekend should be a PvP weekend. Actually remove PvE from the game.

In Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry you fight other players, you are pitted versus other players. Thus FA and JQ are PvP. Just a different flavor of it.
If you are saying they are PvE (Player versus Environment) then the Environment is other players, thus GvG would be considered PvE???
Somehow the logic of FA & JQ not being PvP does not compute.
